How do you make alcoholic drinks that have a smoke effect on top?

I was watching a TV show called Basketball wives and one of the ladies got a drink that had a smoke effect. When she drank it the smoke would come out of her nose and mouth making it look like she was smoking. So I am assuming that whatever was used is edible and the effect seemed to last for a long time so it looked like it would be fun to make. If any one knows how to make this effect with mixed drinks could you please let me know. How do you make alcoholic drinks that have a smoke effect on top?
What you are seeing is a chip of dry ice that has been added to a drink. Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide; when it melts it turns right into a gas.

It should be noted that dry ice is pretty dangerous because you can get some ugly ';burns'; if it comes in contact with your skin (frostbite).

I've located this video that is a creative way to safely handle dry ice in a drink:

You put dry ice in it. I know you can get it at Safeway if you have one around you.
